Its a......Girl!!

This week was a milestone, we finally got to see if our little one was a girl or boy.  Well, Tom was right...we have a baby girl in the oven.  The appointment went great, everything was healthy, and I have never been so happy as to see that she was normal in every category.  This appointment was a great experience, Tom's dad was in town and went with us to see his first look as his new granddaughter.  Tom and the ultrasound technician sounded like they were speaking a different language with all the medical words that were flying across my belly.  I didn't care what they were saying as long as I could watch her.

We were incredibly lucky because she was VERY active during the ultrasound, we got to see her move all around and kick and hit momma's belly.  The one thing that did not stop moving the entire 30 minutes....HER MOUTH!  That was just verification that we were for sure having a girl.  She was sticking out her tongue and showing off all her new tricks.  She had the hiccups, swallowed, and sucked her thumb; she was constantly moving and groving.  She even had her hand behind her head and was just chilling in her crib.

When the ultrasound first started, she had her hands shaped like little guns.  Tom loved it!  He now calls her "Shooter" and whenever I walk past, he makes little shooting noises at my belly.  Of course, her name is a secret, but we will tell you that her middle name is Florence after her great-grandma and great-great-grandma.  Grandma Betty has taken to calling her "Matilda" so feel feel to use that name for the little one until she is born.

One thing that was not normal during her picture session was her feet, in the words of our ultrasound tech "she has huge feet."  Its become a huge joke in our house and she will probably be sick of hearing about it while she grows up.

I will be posting the pics from the ultrasound next time, so be patient (yes, I'm talking to you Grandma Betty and Auntie Tiff :)  )
