One Year Already!

Today our baby turned one year old!  I am so happy to see her grow, but also sad that she is no longer a baby.  We are so thankful for the blessing that Paisley has brought to us in the past year.  How our life has changed?!

For Paisley's birthday, we tried to do all of Paisley's favorite things.  The day started off rough when she got run over by the puppy dogs, she was in the path between them and their breakfast.  She ended up face down on the concrete floor with a split lip.  Poor baby!

It was quickly forgotten as we gave Paisley her first taste of a cupcake.  She is a big fan of sugar, I don't know where she got that. :)  It dyed her hands blue and all 6 of her teeth!
After the all important morning and afternoon naps, we really got into Paisley's favorite things.  We visited our favorite outdoor waterpark (its Laramie- so a waterpark is just a whole bunch of fountains!), but she enjoyed marching around the fountains.

We then headed to Paisley's favorite restaurant, Corona Village, for her favorite dinner- cheese enchiladas!!  She got a balloon that kept her busy all dinner, and it was her favorite color- green!  After dinner, she wore the sombrero and the staff sang to us- I couldn't post the video but will keep working on it.  We miss you all and wish you could be here to help Paisley celebrate her first birthday!

There will be more birthday fun at her official birthday party for family and all of her friends this weekend.  I will post more pics of the special day!

Paisley First (of many!) Camping Trip 2012

Paisley taking a minute to contemplate the meaning of life

For our long weekend over Easter, we decided to take a short camping trip to introduce Paisley to one of our favorite activities.  We stayed in an adorable cabin at Horsetooth Reservoir for 2 nights. We hiked, we had several campfires, and had some good Witkop family bonding time.  It was such a good experience and I think we made a camper out of Paisley.

Paisley was such a trooper and did so well.  She was a little confused about why we were outside all the time, but she enjoyed seeing the wildlife and watching the dogs swim.  As for the wildlife, we had deer, geese, ducks, and even a skunk all within 20 feet of us, the skunk was not so fun but we were still and he just left us alone.

We made good use of the backpack that my sister passed down to us and took several day trips.  We were excited that Paisley was so into the outdoors, she loved watching the scenery go by and the view from dad's back.

It was fun to introduce Paisley to and watch her experience such an important activity in our lives.  Here are some of our favorite pics from our first camping outing of the year.

Exhausted after the hike- so sweet!

I love Camping!

Paisley and Dad with the very friendly geese (I probably shouldn't have fed them earlier, they were our very annoying neighbors for the rest of the trip)

Ummm....Carrots!

A first for everything- Spring Break 2012

This spring break was an amazing vacation for our family.  We spent the entire week in Denver with Grandma Betty, Aunt Tiff, Uncle Justin, and adoring cousing Taylor and Aubrey.

The week was jam packed for us as we tried to experience lots of Paisley's firsts: first ride on the swing (loved it!), first trip to the zoo (loved it!), first time on a carosel (hated it then loved it!), first time on the grass (hated it!), and first trip to the pool (loved it).  The best part for us was getting to spend so much time and getting lots of love in from the Texas Johnsons.

Here are some of our favorite pics of Paisley's firsts.

Here are some pics of Paisley and her favorite people.
